For schools
Samantha Blackburn-Read worked in public and private schools, including leadership roles, before opening Psychology House. She works with school psychologists and teachers so recommendations fit what a classroom can realistically do.
Referring a student
Referrals are welcome from school psychologists, teachers and school leaders, as well as GPs, psychiatrists, paediatricians, speech pathologists, occupational therapists and other allied health professionals. Parents can also contact Psychology House directly, and no GP referral is needed.
To discuss a student, ask the family to make an enquiry, or call 0400 046 542.
What schools receive
Each assessment ends with a comprehensive psychological report with findings, any diagnosis where the criteria are met, and practical recommendations. Samantha goes through the results with parents in a feedback session.

Teacher input
Where a teacher rating scale is used, such as the Conners-4 Teacher form, a teacher is asked to complete it. Samantha can talk through recommendations with teachers and school psychologists.
Year 12 exam accommodations
A literacy and numeracy review is often used to prepare a school-based application for special examination accommodations in Year 12 ATAR exams. The school makes the application, and the exam authority decides whether to approve it.
